The Spanish culture of tapas is all about snacking on a variety of hors d’oeuvres with drinks and good conversation flowing. It is believed that tapas was invented by taverns in Spain as a way to work up their customers’ thirst so that they would order more drinks. Hence the typically salty, spicy or marinated tapas dished that you find, like chorizo, cured ham and anchovies. And perhaps eateries in SIngapore have caught on to the same idea…
